Both Eluned and Alan were born and bred in the beautiful coastal town of
Fishguard, Pembrokeshire and having met via a local social media page they
wanted to ensure that their wedding took place there.

Having looked online Eluned found a dress that she knew would be perfect and visited the nearest
stockist, La Mor Bridal, where she was greeted by owner, Charley, and her
Mum, Hazel.

“Both Charley and Hazel were really friendly, approachable and helpful.

I hadn’t tried on any dresses before and was encouraged try on different styles
including a-line and ballgown but I just didn’t feel comfortable in any of them. I
was already calling the dress I had seen online “my” dress and knew that it
was the one for me.

Charley didn’t have this dress in stock but showed me a
satin Envy by Phoenix dress in the same style to try on. As soon as my
bridesmaid, Hazel and Charley saw me in this dress they agreed and said
“that’s the shape for you” so I went ahead and placed the order for “my” dress.
I felt confident that I would feel amazing it in even though I hadn’t tried it on!

When the time came for my dress fittings I used the recommended
seamstress as, not being able to wear heels, my dress needed taking up quite
a bit and she also altered the bridesmaid dress and my dress that I was
planning on wearing for the Sunday celebration, the day after our wedding.
The original veil that I had bought was too busy to compliment the dress so I
chose a different one with Swarovski crystals along with a handbag and train
clip from La Mor.

When it came to sourcing other wedding suppliers we didn’t attend any
wedding fayres but used local, independent businesses that were already
known to us or personally recommended to ensure that we retained a
homespun feel.

Our service was held in St Mary’s Church in Fishguard and a friend who is a
retired priest married us making the day extra special. All of Alan’s family and
my Father were sailors and fishermen so we held the reception in the Yacht
Club in the old part of Fishguard, where Alan was born. We wanted a relaxed
reception and my dream of everyone being able to sit outside on the quay,
enjoying the scenery whilst eating and socialising came true.

It was unexpectedly hot on the day but I felt amazing in my wedding dress.
It’s a cliché but I really did feel like a Princess. I wore it again on Sunday and
danced in it so the “emergency Sunday dress” stayed in the wardrobe!
There are so many wonderful memories of the day; seeing everyone happy
and smiling outside sitting in the sun, Alan’s face when he turned to look at
me at the alter, the glorious colours of my flower and perfectly behaved flower
girls. It couldn’t have been more perfect”.
