A real life Romeo and Juliet story that has a happy ending…

Isadora and Carwyn met at a mutual hobby of rifle shooting in 2015. On their 5th anniversary
he took her to the stunning Castell Coch, a 19th-century Gothic Revival castle, and during a
walk through the beautiful autumn trees surprised her by getting down on one knee and
proposing!

“The next 2 years was active wedding planning, we really enjoyed doing it all together from
cake tastings to deciding on colour palettes and flowers. We attended a lot of
wedding fayres across the South West and Wales along with researching online to find the
right suppliers for us, most of whom were local to the South West and Wales, but one thing I
wanted to surprise Carwyn with was the dress….

I had already been to some boutiques in Cardiff but my mother suggested going to
Jacqueline’s Bridal Boutique in Warminster as my parents live locally and she had often seen
their beautiful window displays, commenting that it always looked a very high quality and
inviting.

The outside certainly matched the welcome that I received from Sharon, she was so kind and
warm, focussing on making me feel beautiful and finding the right dress for me rather than
just pushing a sale. The boutique caters to a wide range of body types and has a fantastic
selection of dresses with nice, large changing rooms (so one can easily manoeuvre in a large
wedding dress which not all boutiques think of) so I was very pleased! Sharon was
exceedingly patient with the number of dresses I tried, helping me get in and out of them and
also trying to locate dresses with particular features I liked such as lace type, neckline, etc.
I had tried at least 20 dresses on before visiting Jacqueline’s so I had an idea of what styles I
liked but I felt quite lost and certainly valued Sharon’s suggestions. She listened carefully to
all my feedback on the various dresses I tried on when suddenly her eyes lit up and she
pulled out the gorgeous Envy gown!

I had tried it on before in another boutique but this time,
with Sharon’s excellent service and support I was ready to say “yes to the dress”.
Sharon helped me to accessorise the dress with a crystal belt and when the time came their
recommended seamstresses, Frances and Erin, not only made sure that the dress was a
perfect fit but also personalised the dress with the crystals from the belt resulting in a beautiful
final piece. I have never had a dress that has fitted me so well, it truly felt like it was designed
and made to be worn by me rather than me trying to fit the dress. Walking down the aisle and
throughout the day, I felt so beautiful and elegant, like royalty. The regal feeling was
especially there with the Royal length (145 inches) lace trim veil that matched the drama of
the dress; it was a stunning combination. It was an amazing feeling, and I will treasure my
gorgeous dress and veil forever.

For our wedding day we chose the beautiful Georgian manor, Holbrook Manor in Wincanton,
Somerset. The location was perfect, fairly local to my hometown and as an exclusive venue
we knew we would have the entire place to ourselves. With accommodation upstairs, for
ourselves and our wedding party, amazing menu’s and the house itself suiting the vibe of our
wedding, we wanted something classic with a touch of luxury, we couldn’t ask for anything
more.

On the wedding day it was emotional when I was getting ready as Carwyn and I have been
together for over 7 years, had a 2-and-a-half-year engagement and I couldn’t wait to marry
my best friend and soul mate. Coming around the corner to walk down the aisle and seeing
my fiancé’s reaction – he was smiling and burst into happy tears. The registrar kindly handed
him a tissue as his tears of joy were uncontrollable. It was truly touching for me to see as I
walked towards him. Any nerves I had disappeared and all I could see was Carwyn waiting
for me. We were just so happy to be there together”.
